Job description

In this role, you'll work closely with the Managing Director & Estimator, with real opportunities for advancement into a Lead Estimator position as we continue to expand.

What you will do - Essential Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates from first principles
Plan, program, and schedule project timelines and resources
Complete quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost analysis
Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier quotes, and assist in tender document preparation
Track tenders and job opportunities; prepare regular reports
Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest value engineering alternatives
Analyze all project components including labor, materials, equipment, permits, and risks.

Required qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
3–5 years of estimating experience in the civil construction industry, with a proven track record of delivering successful and competitive tenders
Strong experience and confidence with estimating software
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and/or BEAMS software is highly desirable
Solid knowledge of Australian civil earthworks is preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and prepare detailed take-offs
High level of analytical, negotiation, and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical and cost-related information
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
